M&S has always believed in nurturing young talent, so that we can innovate as a business and grow the leaders of tomorrow – whether working on the shop floor, design, finance or technology. Now, with more than two million people working in retail – the UK’s largest private sector employer – it’s more important than ever that as an industry we work together to continue to develop this talent. The Fashion Retail Academy serves to achieve just that – bringing retailers together so we can provide an inspiring training ground for our future designers, buyers, merchandisers and marketers.
The Fashion Retail Academy helps equip budding young retailers with the skills and practical experience required to kick-start a career in high street fashion. This year M&S opened its doors to over 60 FRA students on work placement – giving them a first hand insight into the retail sector. Many FRA students have gone on to secure full-time positions with us, just showing that there are good opportunities out there for talented young people.
