We do not offer any accommodation through the Academy, but support you with useful websites below to help with the search.

Unite have accommodation all over London which is of a high standard and reasonable price. A number of current Academy students are in Unite accommodation and reports are good. If you are interested you can book directly through Unite: www.unite-students.com
 
For those who are on a low family income (less than £31,000 p.a.) and who have to relocate to London to take up their place at the Academy, there is a scheme called the Residential Bursary, funded by the Learning and Skills Council, which provides up to £4,000 towards the cost of accommodation. Application forms will be available from the Academy during the summer months, but you need to have secured accommodation and enrolled on to the course before you can apply.

Should you need help in travel costs, you can apply to your Local Authority for Post-16 travel assistance. Please note you will need to meet your Local Authority eligibility criteria for this scheme. The criteria are as follows:

• You are aged 16-19
• Attending a full-time course
• Live 3 miles from the establishment at which the course is offered

Oyster cards

Oyster cards are the Transport for London discount travel cards and provide holders with cut price travel on buses, tubes and trams in and around London. Student Oyster photocards offer a greater level of discount and will be valid until the end of your course. They entitle the holder to buy a student rate Bus Pass or Travelcard which are usually valid for seven days, one month or longer periods. If you meet all the following criteria, you can apply for a 16 - 18 Oyster Photo Card:

• You are under 18 on 31 August of the year that you are applying
• You live in London
• You are in full time education
• 18+ students can get a discount of 30% off the full adult rate
