If you are under 19 on 31st August in the academic year that you begin your course and are a home or EU student, you do not pay any fees for a course you start in September. A 'home' student usually means a British National or someone with indefinite or exceptional leave to remain and who has been living in the UK for at least 3 years prior to the beginning of their course (excluding any temporary absences). To check your status, please contact the Academy's Admission Team on 020 7307 2345.
If you are 19 or over, on 31st August in the academic year that you begin your course you may be liable to pay tuition fees. If you are receiving certain benefits or meet other specific criteria you may be entitled to a concessionary fee or free tuition.
Tuition fees are payable for each year of the course. In 2011/2012 fees are as follows:
Level 2 Diploma in Fashion Retail 1 year
Level 3 Diploma in Fashion Retail 1 year
Level 4 Diploma in Visual Merchandising 1 year
Level 4 Diploma in Buying & Merchandising 1 year
BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Art & Design (Fashion & Clothing) 2 year
BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Art & Design (Graphic Design) 2 year
BTEC Level 3 Extended National Diploma in Business (Retail) 2 year
Foundation Degree in Fashion Retail Management 2 year
HE Certificate in Fashion Retail Management (Fashion Merchandising) 1 year
Cheques
You may pay by personal cheque, bankers draft or Travellers Cheques. All cheques must be in pounds sterling and made payable to Fashion Retail Academy
Credit and Debit Card
To pay your tuition fees by credit or debit card the cardholder must be present at the time of payment .
When do I need to pay my course fees and do I need to pay in full?
Students must pay fees in advance, during enrolment. In certain circumstances we may offer payment on an instalment basis (50% at enrolment and 50% by 5th January). Please contact us for further details.
We encourage all students to pay fees in advance but by the latest during enrolment. We accept Visa/Delta, MasterCard, Maestro and Electron credit/debit cards, payment can be made online at http://intranet.arts.ac.uk/registry/payments/.
Payment can also be made by cheque or bankers draft in GBP and made payable to the University of Arts London. (Should your cheque be returned unpaid this will result in the student being suspended from the course). We will not accept a cheque drawn on a foreign currency.
We also accept payment by bank transfer (BACS) account details: Nat west Bank, Sort Code 50-41-06, Account number 01045822, IBAN GB73NWBK50410601045822, Swift NWBKGB2L. Please ensure that you quote your student ID and email us a copy of the receipt to student.admin@fashion.arts.ac.uk.
We do not accept payment by cash and UAL does not offer the option to pay your tuition fees by instalment.
Funding
Adult Learning Grant (ALG) - to qualify, you must be undertaking your first level 2 or first level 3 qualification. For further details of this scheme please visit:

Learner Support Funds
The Academy receives funding from the Learning and Skills Council to provide a safety net for students from low-income households wishing to remain in education. Priority groups for learner support funds
Include: students with disabilities and/ or learning difficulties, those leaving care, probationers, and students reaching 19 and losing benefits during their courses. Full details of the scheme will be provided to all students who enrol at the Academy and more information is available at:
