Introduction Visual Merchandising

This practical course will demonstrate how effective visual merchandising will increase sales and improve the overall image of a store. The course will include a practical workshop and will incorporate:

In-Store Visual Merchandising

  • The role of a visual merchandiser
  • Understanding the importance of brand identity
  • Understanding the theory of interior visual merchandising
  • A practical workshop merchandising a mock shop

Mannequin Dressing

  • Learn how to handle and dress a mannequin
  • Understanding mannequin groupings
  • A practical workshop with styling techniques for mannequins

Window Display

  • Understanding the importance of window display for up-selling merchandise
  • Practical techniques used to prepare a display
  • How to incorporate a mannequin and props within a display
  • Create and install a window scheme

By the end of the course you will be able to understand the key factors in successful visual merchandising.

This course provides a taster for the full time Level 4 Visual Merchandising Diploma.
