The FRA Library, located on the lower ground level of the FRA, consists of a collection approximately 5,000 books, plus 40 magazine subscriptions, DVDs, TV Recordings, look books, fiction and biographies, and materials on ​​​​​study skills, well-being and careers. All of the Library holdings and resources are specific to Fashion and bespoke to FRA taught courses. There are also two IT suites, and two machines which print, photocopy and scan that are available for student use.

Study Facilities:

The FRA Library is a quiet study area, where students can take advantage of a calm space to study and work in small groups, either in the main Library area amongst the book stacks, or in one of the Library’s two IT suites. The two IT suites are available to all students throughout the day. The Large computer suite contains 18 computers, both iMacs and PCs, and is for general study. The small computer suite contains 14 computers, both iMacs and PCs, and is our Silent Study Space. All computers are equipped with full Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft software. The facilities include A4 and A3 colour and black and white printing and photocopying and free scanning.

Physical Resources:

We are pleased to offer very specialised selection of titles to students. Almost all our 5,000 books are available for a 2 week loan period, while magazines and look books are reference to maximise their accessibility and availability to students. Magazines subscribed to include Drapers, Retail Week, US Vogue, and much more. The DVD collection consists of feature length films and documentaries and are available for 1 week loans. There is also a small fiction collection.

Digital Resources:

The Library subscribes to twelve industry-led databases. These include WGSN, Edited, Trend Council, Fashion Monitor, Global Data, and more, all of which are used widely in the fashion industry. The Library also has a collection of over 200 eBooks of essential texts that can be accessed through the Library catalogue. Students can access the majority of the digital resources both while at the Academy and from home.
