L4 Fast Track Digital Marketing for Fashion

This specialised 22 week course, delivered two days per week has been developed to give you the skills and knowledge needed to secure employment in a digital role within the Fashion Retail sector. The course is ideal for anyone who wishes to combine a part-time job with a nationally recognised qualification and offers the opportunity to gain new skills, build on the L3 Digital Marketing course or to upgrade your current expertise.

It covers a broad range of topics, focusing on the marketing skills needed to generate and maximise online sales through marketing via website and social media. You will learn how to create and implement a marketing strategy, understand your audience profile and how to develop a suitable promotional mix to reach them and evaluate analytics to increase profitability. You will learn about the digital marketing channels available to you and how to measure their impact on profitability.

The course combines theoretical learning with practical experience and includes a three week work placement with a high street fashion brand to cement your knowledge and give you an insight into the real life challenges currently facing the industry.

Covering a mix of digital marketing theory with practical sessions, the course provides a balance of creative and commercial skills needed to succeed in the new digital era of fashion retail. Through this course you gain an understanding of how marketing strategies are developed and turned into plans that are implemented at different levels.

You will learn about all areas of the digital marketing mix including social media marketing, content marketing, online display, pay per click advertising, search engine optimisation and analysis of web analytics and metrics to increase conversion.

You will gain an understanding of how to use mobile marketing to increase engagement with your audience. You will learn about the technologies required to introduce e-commerce into a business, how to measure its impact and then improve conversion to increase profit.

Marketing departments need an understanding of the whole organisation so the course develops your understanding of broader business concepts such as management and leadership, finance and budgeting, business structures and external influences which affect activity.  

You will be invited to attend a range of masterclasses from some of retails biggest names. Previous speakers have included ASOS; Chloe Miles – Fashion Blogger; Zalando; FRA Alumni Sorcha Kelly, Junior Merchandiser - Accessories at NET-A-PORTER; TK Maxx & New Look. During these sessions held in our state of the art lecture theatre, fashion retail experts advise and inform about a range of subjects affecting the industry with an interactive Q&A session at the end to enable students to have their say.

Your day could involve planning, delivering and managing your own simulated content marketing campaign, working on a real life business project set by one of our 130 fashion brands or you may be using a range of advanced website software tools and techniques to develop multiple-page websites with multimedia and interactive features to a set brief, conducting user testing amongst your fellow students.

This course includes a three week work placement at a high street brand aimed at developing on the job skills to enable graduates to go straight into the workplace with unrivalled hands on experience.

The course also includes an industry project which will be set by employers in the sector. This project will enable you to work on a real life business problem and present your solution to Senior Business Executives, providing you fantastic experience and the opportunity to gain an understanding of real time challenges currently facing the industry.

Some graduates may also choose to progress on to higher level training or degrees.

Age Requirement: 19+

Enrolment: Week Commencing 26th February 2018

Start date: 5th March 2018

End date: Week Ending 30th July 2018

Course duration: 22 weeks, two days per week

Entry Criteria: 1 A-level (or the equivalent Level 3 qualification) and 5 GCSEs grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English. Please provide us with a NARIC Statement of Comparability, if you have any non-UK qualifications. We will not be able to process your application without this information. Must be 19 or older on the 31 August 2017 to apply for Fast Track courses.

Interview: Interviews take place at The Fashion Retail Academy, or online by Skype or Facetime (in exceptional circumstances). If successful, you will usually receive an offer by post within two weeks of your interview.

You will be assessed on the following during the interview:

  • Enthusiasm for & understanding of the fashion retail industry
  • Awareness of contemporary fashion news
  • Suitability of the course choice in getting them where they want to be
  • Background and journey (educationally\professionally) to date

Anthony McGrath, Tutor.

 

Anthony’s experience stretches over nearly twenty years. He started out in Mens style magazines and proved himself as both a competent Editor and stylist and went from work experience to Senior Fashion Editor of Loaded Fashion in an 18 month period. As a result of this he was seen as a key player in the Menswear market and lead to him being a highly sort after stylist. Styling and Art directing editorially for Mens Health, Interview, The LA Times and The Saturday Times Magazine to name but a few. The celebrities he has dressed include Ashton Kutcher, Duran Duran, Gerard Butler, Guy Ritchie, Jack Nicolson, James Corden, Johnny Lee Miller, Michael Owen and Steve Coogan and Steve Jones.

 

Over the years Anthony has styled campaigns for clients including House of Fraser, Emporio Armani, Lacoste and Marks & Spencer. He has consulted and advised brands as diverse as The BBC, Jaguar, Peroni, The Arcadia Group and Vogue Italia on brand progression, re-positioning in the market place, catwalk interpretation & media & PR relations. Due to Anthony’s extensive experience he has been asked by educational institutions, such as London College of Fashion, the Fashion Retail Academy, University of the Creative Arts and Manchester Metropolitan University to write, formulate and teach modules in Fashion, Styling and Fashion Communications.
