5 Tips for Applying Through Clearing

With our Clearing Hotline opening on 7th July, here are 5 essential tips to help you prepare and make your application as smooth as possible.

Tip One: Research Your Course Options

Before applying, take time to understand the course you're interested in. At the Fashion Retail Academy, we offer the following undergraduate courses through clearing:

• Fashion Business 
• Buying & Merchandising
• Fashion, Communication & Styling
• Fashion Marketing & Communications
• Art Direction for Fashion

Tip Two: Get Your Details Ready

Having everything prepared before you call will speed up the process. Make sure you have:

• Full name, title, gender and date of birth 
• Email and phone number (available 9am-5pm) 
• Your full home address and postcode 
• The name of the course you want to apply for
• Your 10-digit number UCAS Personal ID (if you have one - not essential)
• Details of your most recent qualifications, including:
  • Type (e.g. A Levels, BTEC etc)
  • Full qualification name
  • Grades/results if you already have them
  • The year you completed them
• Details of any equivalent experience, if you don’t have formal qualifications

Please note: If you haven’t applied through UCAS before and receive an offer, you’ll need to send us proof of your qualifications.

Tip 3: Don't Delay Your Application

Clearing places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a course fills up, applications close. Apply early to avoid missing our on your preferred choice.

Tip 4: Stay on Top of Your Application

Our clearing process is managed by Falmouth University. Your place is only confirmed once they email you with official confirmation after you've accepted your offer. If they request further information (like proof of your grades), respond quickly to avoid losing your place.
