Exciting news - the Met Gala 2025 has just taken place! Here's everything you need to know about the iconic fashion event, including some of FRA's favourite looks...
The Met Gala was founded in 1948 and is still one of the biggest events in fashion today. It's a charity fundraiser for the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The event is held every year, usually on the first Monday in May, and it has an exclusive, invitation-only guest list filled with high-profile celebrities and cultural figures.
This year's theme, "Tailored for You" celebrated the new exhibition Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, which spotlights dandyism and the evolution of Black menswear over the centuries. The theme encouraged guests to interpret tailoring in a creative and personal way, highlighting how it has shaped Black fashion and identity through history.
Picking our favourite looks was difficult - there were so many standout outfits! But here are a few that really caught our eye:
As you may know for her role in the award-winning movie 'The Substance', Demi wore a Thom Browne piece shaped like a men's tie. The structure and attention to detail made it one of the most unique looks of the night.

Diana made a grand return to the Met Gala after 22 years. She looked stunning in a white gown covered in crystals and beads, with a feather trim. Her 18-foot train, embroidered with her children and grandchildren's names, was a beautiful personal touch.

Wednesday star, Jenna Ortega, wore a strapless metallic dress by Balmain's Oliver Rousteing. It looked like it was sculptured from numbered rulers - a creative twist on tailoring. She paired it with a collar necklace and soft curls.

Actor Damson made a bold entrance in a full F1 racing suit, complete with a helmet and race car! The paparazzi didn't know who it was at first, but his dramatic red carpet reveal made it one of the most talked about moments. His look was inspired by his upcoming Formula One film.

Lauryn Hill attended her first Met Gala ever, and she sure knew how to turn heads! She wore an eye-catching bold butter yellow, double-breasted suit, which featured a dramatic high collar and cape. The look was complete with a traditional shirt and tie - a powerful take on modern tailoring!
