Meet Sienna-Mae Jackson, one of our current Level 2 Fashion Retail Diploma students, as she shares what the course is really like, why she chose it and what she's learnt so far.
I chose the Level 2 Fashion Retail Diploma because I thought that it would be really interesting to see how the fashion industry works from the ground up. I felt that this course is the perfect way to incorporate my passion for fashion, especially the girlier & chic aspects, and combine them with practical skills that are used everyday within the fashion world! - Sienna-Mae Jackson, Level 2 Fashion Retail Diploma
Sienna-Mae loves learning more about the fashion retail industry and discovering just how many different layers and roles it involves. She also says her classmates make the course even better - everyone shares a love for fashion and wants to succeed in the industry.
One of Sienna-Mae's highlights has been the class trip to Bond Street and Selfridges to gather research for their first project - The Luxury Brand Magazine.
During the trip, students explored luxury storefronts and window displays, taking photos and analysing how different brands present themselves.
It was so interesting to see how my choice of luxury brand, Tiffany & Co., differentiated both their Bond Street and Selfridges displays to look more aesthetically pleasing to certain age ranges. - Sienna-Mae Jackson, Level 2 Fashion Retail Diploma student
During the course so far, I’ve learnt a mix of creative and professional skills that have helped me explore the fashion retail industry on a deeper level, including what makes customers feel more connected to a brand and the way that brands present themselves affects their development! - Sienna-Mae Jackson, Level 2 Fashion Retail Diploma student
Sienna-Mae plans to continue her studies after completing Level 2 Fashion Retail, moving on to a Level 3 Diploma and then university to keep developing her knowledge and experience.
I would honestly say just remember to be yourself! You might feel a little nervous as it will be a new start, but the FRA will give you lots of opportunities to ensure that you settle in, including lots of interactive activities during your induction day and ‘icebreaker’ activities (my personal fave!) where you get the chance to meet new people either joining your course or thinking about going in the same direction as you! - Sienna-Mae Jackson, Level 2 Fashion Retail Diploma student
