Our second-year Level 3 Fashion Retail students recently took part in an exciting project to create a conceptual window display for the ALLSAINTS Regent Street store, inspired by a collaboration with an emerging artist or band.

The goal was to reflect ALLSAINTS’ edgy, music-driven identity while appealing to Gen Z shoppers. Students were challenged to produce a visually striking and commercially relevant window display that demonstrated their understanding of retail environments, visual merchandising, brand identity, target customers, and collaboration marketing.

We recently caught up with Hope, Level 3 Fashion Retail student, to hear more about her approach to the project.

Hope’s Approach

Although this was a group project, Hope shared her individual process:

I began by researching ALLSAINTS’ identity, recent campaigns and current market trends. I explored various artists and bands to find one that aligned with the brand, ultimately choosing Last Dinner Party because their style felt authentic to ALLSAINTS while offering something fresh. I then created mood boards and gradually refined my ideas into a cohesive window display concept. The aim was to make it cool, on-trend, and representative of ALLSAINTS' aesthetic.

Take a look inside the project:

Best Bits & Skills Developed

Hope shared her favourite part of the project and how it helped build her confidence:

My favourite part was presenting to the class. I usually get nervous in these situations, but as I began speaking, the nerves disappeared. I was the only one presenting from my group, which was a bit daunting compared to other groups, but it was incredibly rewarding to showcase and take pride in the concept I had developed.

She also reflected on the industry-relevant skills she developed through the project:

I strengthened my research and brand analysis skills, improved my visual merchandising and display design abilities, and gained experience in styling, collaborative thinking, and presenting ideas professionally. These are all essential when working with brands and clients!

Putting the Concept Forward to All Saints Head Office

Hope also shared how it felt to have her concept selected to be put forward to ALLSAINTS Head Office:

I was thrilled and proud. It was such a confidence boost to see my work recognised at that level, and it motivated me to continue pushing my creativity and trusting my ideas.

Why She Chose FRA

Hope explained what led her to choose FRA:

I first heard about the FRA through TikTok and a friend from my school who had attended. I asked my mum if I could apply, and although I didn’t expect her to say yes because it is a two-hour train journey from home, she encouraged me to go to an open day. After exploring the courses, I knew the FRA was the right fit.
None of the local colleges or sixth forms felt exciting, and the FRA really stood out. I chose Level 3 Fashion Retail because it covers fashion buying, visual merchandising, and marketing, giving me a broad foundation while I figured out my career path.

Hope also shared that this September, she will continue her journey at the FRA by progressing on to the Level 4 Fashion Retail with Marketing Diploma.

Step out of your comfort zone and fully immerse yourself in everything the FRA offers. Take advantage of the hands-on projects, industry opportunities, and creative freedom. The more you put in, the more you will get out. It is a unique environment to develop your skills, confidence, and professional mindset.
