Unsure what to do after leaving school? Apprenticeships give you the chance to earn whilst you learn!

For 15 years, the Fashion Retail Academy has successfully delivered fashion and retail courses to over 11,000 students. As a growing college, we are always looking at new courses and delivery methods, and are proud to be collaborating with UK and international retailers to offer Fashion and Retail Apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships are a practical alternative to traditional qualifications and give you the chance to combine on-job experience with classroom learning. They usually take between 12 – 24 months to complete and are offered at Level 2 to Level 7 in a variety of professions. As a fashion and retail college, we focus on retail relevant programmes, and offer Apprenticeships at Level 2 to Level 4 in Buying, Merchandising, Retail, Customer Service and Digital Marketing.

Apprenticeship schemes are driven by our retail partners and their current vacancies.  They can be available at any time of the year, in exactly the same way jobs are.  Therefore we can't guarantee a specific programme, level or and start date.

If we don't have the apprenticeship you are looking for, our Level 2 Fashion Retail, Level 3 Fashion Retail and Level 3 Fashion Design full-time Diploma courses are an ideal alternative, enabling you to secure a job in fashion on graduating, whilst working part-time.  Our dedicated Retail Liaison department will provide you with part-time retail job opportunities from our partner brands throughout your course.   Courses are free (to under 19's) and you can earn and learn simultaneously in exactly the same way as an apprenticeship.  On completion, you can choose whether to continue studying, go into full time employment or do both with an apprenticeship at a higher level.

We also offer Level 4 full-time Diploma courses and Accelerated Degrees to help secure your first job in the fashion industry, getting from the classroom to your dream job in as little as one year.

We offer a wide variety of professional Apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 4 including:

  • Sales Professionals
  • Retail Store Supervisor/Management
  • Retail Management
  • Creative and Digital Media
  • Social Media & Digital Marketing
  • Business Administration
  • Customer Service
  • IT and Telecoms Professionals’

An initial assessment will evaluate your skills and competencies at the beginning of the process to ensure that we identify the most appropriate training programme which best suits your individual needs. Apprentices will be allocated a fully qualified, dedicated work-based assessor who will visit you in the work place to assess your competency. We will help you put together a personalised learning plan, setting realistic and achievable goals for work and learning which we will review with you at regular interviews.
