GCSEs not gone to plan? Struggling to secure a job? Don’t worry!
Here at the FRA, we have a specialised Traineeship programme designed to be a stepping stone towards securing an apprenticeship or job. It’s a free course to help you build professional skills and gain work experience.
You’ll earn a Level 2 WorkSkills qualification which covers professional skills like CV writing, interview techniques, job search methods and building an online presence. If you haven’t achieved a 9 - 4/A*- C in GCSE English and/or Maths, we’ll support you in whichever subject(s) you need to develop.
You’ll study at the FRA two days a week. The programme also includes a work placement, tailored to your specific interests. We’ll match you with a brand or charity that suits your employment needs, and you’ll spend another two days a week working with them. Our partners include British Red Cross, Scope and N16 Vintage.
When you finish your work placement, you’ll have a valuable employer reference to boost your CV. Our FRACareers service will support you with your next steps, including apprenticeship and job applications, or moving into further education. 70% of our traineeship students have successfully progressed from the programme!
The programme is fully funded, so you don’t need to pay anything. Whilst studying at the FRA, all your travel expenses will be covered. Travel and lunch expenses will be covered whilst you are on your work placement.
