Are you thinking of applying to study at the Fashion Retail Academy, but you're not sure of the next steps? Attending one of our Open Days is a great way to learn more about our industry-leading fashion college. We run regular Open Day events throughout the year, and we design them specifically to answer any questions you have and get you excited about studying with us!
Tour our central London campus building
Our modern building can be found right next to Soho, just a few minutes from Tottenham Court Road station. We're also very close to Oxford Street, Regent Street and Bond Street - so we're right in the heart of London's fashion district!
Our central location means we're very easy to access by public transport. We have lots of bus stops nearby, as well as Tottenham Court Road, Oxford Street and Goodge Street underground stations. Coming to an Open Day is a great opportunity to test out your future route between home and college.
During the day, you'll get to look around our building and its specialist fashion facilities including our extensive library, digital suites, sewing studios and design rooms, visual merchandising studio and Higher Education Hub. It can be tricky to imagine the reality of something online, so we encourage you to come and check out our campus for yourself, see where you’ll be studying and get inspired!
Meet our course leaders and tutors
At the Fashion Retail Academy, we consider our tutors and course leaders to be our greatest asset. Before becoming teachers, many of them worked in the fashion retail industry themselves - and many still do! They come from areas like design, buying and visual merchandising. They've travelled the world and worked alongside some of the world’s most-recognised brands. As a result, they have a huge amount of knowledge and experience to share with our students.
By coming to an Open Day, you’ll ease any nerves by putting faces to names. You’ll find out more about your syllabus and the teaching style of our tutors.
Talk to our current students
Another excellent part of our Open Days is our supportive Student Ambassadors. You’ll have lots of opportunities to meet and talk to students who are currently studying with us. You can ask them all the questions you have, see examples of their work and get an insiders perspective of studying at the FRA.
Get more information about our courses
If you’re not quite sure what fashion retail area you’d like to work in yet, chatting to students and tutors about our courses and the career options available can be very helpful. Who better to advise you than the students studying it, or the people who teach it?
Having as much information as possible about your options will help you make sure you make the right choice when you come to study with us. After an Open Day, you might change your mind or discover a new career you hadn’t considered before.
Get a taste of student life
While the course you choose to study at the Fashion Retail Academy is obviously very important, so is the student lifestyle and community you’ll be a part of. We recommend that you take some time to explore the surrounding area around the college. Our central location puts us right in the thick of things: we’re steps away from cafes, shops and restaurants.
Make friends with your potential coursemates
Be brave and reach out to other prospective students at the Open Day! It’s likely that they have the same interests and aspirations that you do. You might make some new friends before you even start your course. That’s a great way to make your first day feel less daunting!
