FRA Students support FTCT at Drapers Awards
Last week five students from the Fashion Retail Academy supported the Fashion and Textile Children’s Trust (FTCT) at the annual Drapers Awards held in Old Billingsgate. Just over £25,000 was raised for the FTCT, the highest the FTCT has raised in the last five years and all of this will go to support children whose parent works in any aspect of the UK fashion and textile industry. Our students provided outstanding support to the charity and truly fantastic ambassadors for the Academy.
“From the word go, they were 100% enthusiastic about every task, doing an amazing visual merchandising task on our prize table, setting up 80 tables with prize donation envelopes and chatting to guests during the reception. All the tasks I had gone through with them in rehearsal were carried out; when we were getting ready to award the prize winner, a quick turn around was needed which they did and two of the students, Louise and Mary then went on stage to help with the presentation of the award (in front of 800 guests!) - again they weren't phased by this at all. When the students were collecting the donation envelopes from the tables, they were all absolutely brilliant in chatting to guests, encouraging them to donate, going back to tables where guests wanted to make additional donations etc.”
